How lucky I was to make the right connections to end up in your care. It was meant to be! I’ve been singing your praises among my friends and colleagues as you’ve guided me along.
Dr. Pickens, I will never stop to be amazed at your surgical skills & patience with my questions.
My internist spoke highly of Dr. Pickens. Upon meeting him I was at once impressed with his diagnostic skills. He suggested a tonsillectomy. He was most sensitive to my fear of having this type of painful surgery at the advanced age of 73.
Dr. Pickens was most sympathetic and kind going over the procedure. We spoke at length and I immediately felt a great deal of confidence and compassion coming from this fine surgeon.
The surgery is not a walk in the park for an older person. He, his caring staff and hospital called me numerous times to check on me throughout the process.
This wonderful doctor genuinely cares about his patients and I would recommend him highly to all my friends and family.
I am so grateful to have had such a positive experience.
This [letter] is to thank you sincerely for the wonderful care you gave me these last months. Not only did you alleviate my sinus problem, you gave me hope that this chronic condition could be eliminated. It is fine indeed to feel such confidence, gratitude & respect for one’s doctor and staff.
I just wanted to say thank you to each of you for always being so nice and pleasant. You guys are great! And Dr. Pickens especially because I can finally smell the roses!!
Thank you for your skill as a surgeon and your ability to really care for your patients.
I wanted to state publically my appreciation for the professionalism and attention to my needs that Dr. Pickens and his office staff provided me. It was exceptional.
In October of 2013, Dr. Pickens immediately and correctly diagnosed a lump on my left cheek as squamous cancer in a saliva gland and informed me that it had to be removed immediately, which it was 3 days later in a 3-hour outpatient operation at Pardee Hospital.
Dr. Pickens then referred me to an excellent oncologist at Pardee Hospital who prescribed radiation treatment at Pardee Hospital as a precaution. I completed the 30 days of treatments on December 26, 2013.
In late March 2014, another lump appeared in my left side of my neck. At that time it was again quickly and correctly diagnosed as again being a squamous cancer in a lymph node. Dr. Pickens successfully removed the neck cancer and about 45 additional lymph nodes as a precaution of the cancer spreading again. That major operation, again at Pardee Hospital, was 6 hours in duration and did require a 3-day hospital stay.
Dr. Pickens has been monitoring me every step of the way and throughout the past 16 months and no cancer has returned.
I am very appreciative of Dr. Pickens’ attention to detail and to the individual care and concern he and his staff had in all their interactions with me throughout these past 16 months.
I would strongly, and without hesitation, recommend Dr. Pickens to anyone needing ENT services.
